This Arts and Crafts Period (?) hearth pot, based on its form, is from the very late 19th century. This pot is primative in its form and hammering and has a swing handle with a loop. Overall the piece is in fine condition. Of course there's some age-appropriate wear and the interior is patinated.
A very special addition to the hearth, it will be perfect to hold kindling, pine cones and such all winter. Naturally a piece this old is hand-wrought. I measures a bit less than a 7 inch diameter at the top with a slight "bellying" near the bottom. It is 4" high and weighs about a pound and a half

This gorgeous Arts and Crafts Coal Hod is from the very late 19th century, early 20th century. Later coal hods, also called coal scuttles, had, like this one, a more vertical helmet shape and swing handles. This hod, as you see, has one fixed and one swinging handle. It weighs about 4 pounds. The mounts appear to be dark brass or bronze. Overall the piece is in excellent condition: beautiful, sturdy and useful.
A very special addition to the hearth, it will be perfect to hold kindling, pine cones and such all winter -- and make a great magazine holder in summertime, too, since it's so long: 12 inches back to front. Width is 10 inches and height is 10 inches. Naturally a piece this old is hand-wrought.
Hallmark on the bottom would indicate that it was made in Aurora-- a place synonemous with the Roycroft movement
